Our Father's Trinkets by ~Joshwann:iconJoshwann:

Endless fire.
A terrible war: The war.
Revelation. And good against evil.
And now there is fire.
All the beautiful things and all the thoughts and loves are burnt and gone.
The end of the world.
Endless fire, though nothing is left to burn.

The noble and the fallen fought for Gods or Devils
And on the ground, in the mud and ashes, pierced and desecrated,
Lie two of the fighters.
Comrades, brothers maybe, clutching each other in death.
Young boys; no older than twelve.
Who will be men only in heaven or hell.
Who fought in the greatest fight.
But to look at their savaged bodies
I couldn’t tell which side they died for.

Author's Comments

Once your dead it doesn't really matter so much what you died for. The only reason for dieing is if its more important than being alive.
